An e-Commerce Shopify website solution for a local non-profit
Hair Association Taranaki are a non-profit organisation, providing events and educational courses to professionals in the area. To be the central hub and driving force in Taranaki's hairdressing and barbering industry by creating a collaborative and thriving community.
The association approached me to help them build a digital presence whereby members and new members can easily purchase yearly memberships, event tickets, and view updated information on events and committee members.
After exploring several options for an e-Commerce site that can handle both annual memberships and event tickets, Shopify came out on top with its capabilities to handle both. Memberships would be listed as a product and purchased directly through Shopify. Events would be listed through Shopify partner Evey, due to its capabilities to set multiple ticket prices/categories, and manage attendees.
The solution
The association represents and attracts professionals from different backgrounds, so the aesthetics of the website needed to reflect this. The vision was to create a neutral aesthetic, that uses an accent colour to highlight important information and CTAs.
The solution is a black and cream palette, with a purple accent. This has been paired with a stylised serif font and bold sans-serif font to evoke a professional organisation. This is then capped off with community-inspired images and rounded images for a friendly and inviting feel.
